| Grand Jete Dance Companies Petite Team: B/I Level Ages 8^ Junior Team: Int. Level Senior Team: Adv. Level It is Highly suggested any students wishing to audition take either a summer class or camp. Our Dance Team is a performance ensemble that gives talented and dedicated students exposure to performing and competitive dance. Membership is by audition or invitation. How will your dancer benefit by being a Dance Team member? *Exposure to world-renowned teachers and choreographers. *Additional performance opportunities at local venues *Classes in New York City with elite teachers and choreographers. The Dance Team is an Elite group of dancers who are not only talented, but are great role models and leaders for the studio and the community. *Who is eligible for the Company? Students 8 and up are welcome to try out for one of our companies. Memberships are by audition and/or invitation only. *What is involved in the Dance Co.? We are mainly focused on performing. 1-There are 3-4 local venues the students will be performing at. There is one performance a month from Feb-April/May. 2-The students will take part in 2 friendly competitions, one locally and one near King of Prussia. 3-In January members will attend an amazing convention called “The Pulse” This will be in NJ and will require one night of sleeping over. It is two fun filled days of dancing with the top choreographers in the country! *What about Company fees? During our tryouts there will be a meeting for all the parents to discuss the fees and further details. There is a dance company fee to pay for their competition fees, LVDA Class, warm-ups, etc. We break it down into small monthly payments from Sept-June, which should only be about $20/month. *Does my child have to take any other classes along with the company class? Yes, students must take at least one ballet class a week. This can include a combo class or solo classes. What is expected of me as a parent? All parents are responsible for travel arrangements and hotel accommodations. This is not only a commitment for students but also for the parents to be sure students get to venues, competitions etc. A supportive dedicated parent makes the company experience an enjoyable one. |

| The requirements are as follows: 1. Students need to be enrolled in a Ballet class. Students need to be registered before August 18, 2008 (and not that day) in order to audition. 2. Students need to be 8 years old by 9/1 (no exceptions unless personally invited by director). 3. This is for serious and committed dance students only. 4. Students must be able to make rehearsals & tentative events. Teams are based on Levels not ages. Past Team members--- Attendance in Class, attendance in venues and summer programs goes towards points for placement. All students will attend ONE audition class. There will be no acceptance if the audition is missed. Parent meeting to see what is involved and auditions will Be Saturday 9/6 at 2pm Students will audition after the parent meeting. Students please come dressed in ballet attire, with hair neatly pulled away from face. Dance Team Includes: *One competition In Philadelphia *1Dance convention Registration *Local Performance Opportunities *Warm-up suits Dance Team members will be financially responsible for hotel accommodations, transportation, meals and costume charges and personally responsible for making these arrangements |
